Manuscript Submission

The VASA Journal on Images and Culture (VJIC) is designed to be an open and free  interdisciplinary multimedia publication.

VJIC publishes manuscripts,  book discussions, audio, video and visual dialogs.  Copyright and reproduction rights belong to the author(s), with permission given to VJIC to archive the essay, and to use elements in the manuscript for promotion.

Proposal Submission Process:

  • The first step is to submit up to a 200 word (or a 1 minute video or audio) proposal presenting the title and concept of the manuscript/works.  Proposals must include contact information: name of author(s), email address of main author, web page address and Skype username.  Proposal files will “not” be returned unless requested by the author.
  • The proposal needs to identify the media formats (video, audio, image, graphics) that will be used in the manuscript (mov, mp4, mp3, jpeg/jpg, gif).
  • Send your proposal as an attached document (doc or rtf format) to the Assistant Editor at: vjic [at] vjic.org
  • It is the responsibility of the author(s) to gain copyright approval and forward that approval to the assistant editor.

Copyright:  Manuscripts and media files remain under the ownership of the copyright holder.  Authors agree to the archiving of their manuscripts and media files.  Authors may not remove manuscripts and media files without permission from VASA.  It is the author’s responsibility to receive copyright permissions and provide a scanned copy to the VJIC editors.
