After too many tests and procedures, and more emotional upheaval than we care to recount, this collection of photographs, drawings, and ephemera is the closest I have come, so far, to making sense and taking control of this extremely challenging and personal struggle.<br \/>\nWhat began as some naive drawings and playful snapshots has become a uniquely meaningful and rewarding project. Daily, my wife and I remain united, actively engaged in, and focused on our desired outcome: a healthy happy family of our own genetic makeup.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/140071289\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vjic.org\/portfolio\/2015\/saul-album-1\/album\/index.html\">Visual Dialog: Where\u2019s My Happy Ending?<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>About:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Saul Robbins is interested in the ways people interact with their surroundings, and the psychological dynamics of intimacy. His photographs are motivated by observations of human behavior and personal experience, especially those related to loss and unity. He is best known for the series Initial Intake, which examines the empty chairs of Manhattan-based psychotherapy professionals from their clients\u2019 perspective, and How Can I Help? &#8211; An Artful Dialogue, a pop-up exhibition and installation into which he invites strangers to speak with other artists and himself about any topic they wish for free and in complete confidence. Grants and awards include AJPA Rockower, chashama Windows Award, Clarence John Laughlin Award (Finalist) Covenant Foundation, Gunk Foundation and New York Foundation for the Arts, Sony World Photography Awards (Finalist), and The US Embassy in Tbilisi. Curatorial projects include Projecting Freedom: Cinematic Interpretations of the Haggadah (2010), Regarding Intimacy (2007), and No Live Girls, Peep Show 28 (2002). Robbins received his MFA from Hunter College and is Adjunct Faculty of Photography at International Center of Photography (ICP). Since 2011 he has been consulting privately and leading Master Workshops internationally, working with artists to advance their communication skills and professional development practices.
